My name is Elena, creator of “Just a Girl”. I created this blog as an outlet for myself, and an escape from the monotony of my day-to-day comings and goings. It is also a way to showcase my own personal style, while recording my life’s encounters & experiences. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I have had the great fortune to grow up in this beautiful place of a melting pot!
I’m just a girl, like any other girl who loves to be surrounded by the people, and the things she loves most!
I have always had a strong passion for fashion & creativity. Even as a kid I loved dressing up and putting on my mom’s jewelry and shoes, then coming out to show her. I loved to draw too, and always seemed to draw what I saw, which happened to be my mother most of the time. Now that I think back on it…I really admired and looked up to her a great deal, and I still do. She is my strength. Most recently I have become interested in home decor. I want to learn how to make my own space a place where I want to be the most. I want it to become my haven, to be surrounded by all kinds of beautiful things that make me happy and inspired.
I would say my style is across the board! I use to think my style was super feminine and girly, but in recent years it has definitely expanded! My all time favorite fashion eras would have to be the 1950′s (I am a huge Marilyn fan! And I love the feminine & fitted silhouettes of that time), and early 1960′s – 70′s (Audrey is superb, and I continue to have a love affair with the cool and laid back bohemian style of the 70′s.).
I have to admit, for a little while there I lost that passion, and felt uninspired. But since discovering the world of blogging, I have been re-inspired and feel the vigor of creativeness again! I have also met some really amazing and wonderful people along the way. So a sincere THANK YOU to my fellow bloggers. Being re-inspired has been such an amazing feeling. You have literally brought me back to life!
Thank you to all who decide to follow me through this journey, and hopefully some of what I share inspires you too! I love hearing from my readers, so please leave a comment.
Enjoy!
